Apple device helped declassify German intelligence agencies

German activist Lilith Wittmann declassified the address of a government organization using an AirTag smart tag. This is reported by Appleinsider.

In her blog on Medium, Wittmann described how she was looking for traces of the German Federal Communications Service (Bundesservice Telekommunikation), which she considers a secret state organization close to the intelligence services. The woman managed to find out the location of the company using an AirTag smart tag designed to find lost items.

The specialist said that she was looking for traces of the Federal Communications Service on the Internet and talked to officials on this topic, but either did not find practically any useful information, or the speakers refused to discuss this topic with her. Lilith Wittmann sent a package with an AirTag tag in it to the address of the organization, which she learned about on the network.

Some time later, using the Locator application, the activist found out that the parcel had reached the Cologne-Ehrenfelde sorting center, and then it was taken to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Cologne. Thus, Wittman found out that the office of the Federal Communications Service is located in the west of the country.

In her blog, the author said that she would continue to investigate the activities of a secret organization. So, a woman cannot understand why the state body she is interested in is classified and officially does not have a budget.

Earlier it became known that in the United States, Apple’s AirTag beacon began to be used to track packages. A new use for the accessory for finding lost things was found by the wife of a military man, Valerie McNulty, who used the tag when moving.
