Controversy opened by some Genrui brand antigen tests authorized in our country after the Health Products Regulatory Agency (HPRA) of Ireland has ordered their withdrawal from the market.
The reason? Open investigation after detecting more than 550 false positives for coronavirus of this diagnostic test. “The HPRA confirms that the rapid increase in the number of reports of false positive results related to the Genrui self-test is significant and that a preventive withdrawal from the sale is warranted while the manufacturer investigates the matter,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has urged the distributors of these tests in our country to cease marketing “voluntarily”.
Specifically, it is the Genrui Sars-Cov-2 Antigen Test Kit, with references 52104097 and 52112086. The AEMPS clarifies that it has also opened an investigation to clarify what happened with this self-diagnostic test.
