A sustainable cemetery, ecological homes and zero-emission sailboats are part of the Green Awards ranking

This competition, which promotes ideas of sustainability, was previously called Latin America Green Awards and its main headquarters were Guayaquil. Now it is in Miami.

A sustainable cemetery, ecological homes, cargo sailboats without emissions, a coin that rewards the commitment to recycling and sustainable fashion are some of the projects that are part of the ranking of the ninth edition of Green Awards.

This competition, which promotes the best sustainability ideas, was previously called Latin America Green Awards and its main headquarters were Guayaquil. Since this year it has been held in Miami, United States.

Part of the dynamics of Premios Verdes is the annual presentation of its ranking with the best 500 projects in Latin America, which correspond to initiatives from different countries on the continents.

In this ninth edition, after analyzing and evaluating 2,522 environmental and social projects from 28 countries and 655 cities, it has 3 finalists in each of the 21 categories. They have access to a complete network of contacts, follow-up and mentoring.

20 Ecuadorian projects are part of this ranking and two managed to be finalists. The winners will be known at the end of the sustainability week in a gala that will take place from April 20 to 24.

The finalist projects correspond to 12 countries, including: Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guatemala, Bolivia, Brazil, Spain and Costa Rica. The categories to be awarded are: Biodiversity, Cities, Communication, Human Development, Economy, Energy, Public Policy and Waste. (I)
