This year’s 30th anniversary celebrates the Swedish Husqvarny. On this occasion, the company invited a group of journalists to its headquarters to present the latest devices and reveal its plans for the future. AI camera in mowing robots. How does it work?

As the manufacturer explained, the new camera can distinguish between objects and living beings, adapting its operation to protect wild nature. Using AI, Video technology will assign objects to specific groups and adapt the mower’s actions depending on what it sees.

Example? When a mowing robot detects a living being, e.g. a hedgehog or a squirrel, he will keep a safe distance and return to this place later. However, in the case of facilities such as garden furniture or toys, the mower tips the grass thoroughly, but carefully around them. Unlucky lawn fragments will be checked and cut during subsequent journeys, ensuring an even mowing effect.

For many years we have had a solid obstacle avoidance system, but the latest camera will set a new standard for mowing robots. For example, it has infrared night vision mode, which is invisible to the human eye, but equally effectively detects objects both during the day and at night. Users may also feel completely safe in terms of privacy, because no personal data is stored

Husqvarna is expanding the nera series. Two mower for smaller gardens

During the Husqvarna conference, she also presented a number of hardware news – including two nera robots for smaller gardens: Automower 405xe nera and Automower 305E nera. The new models are equipped with EDGECUT technologywhich ensures precise cutting of the edges thanks to the additional rear cutting disc.

Interestingly, All mowers from the Nera series (also older models!) Will receive a system update that will introduce a systematic mowing function to these devices. The user will be able to choose between irregular mowing, ensuring a uniform lawn structure and systematic mowing, enabling the creation of patterns, such as belts or chessboard.
