Advisor to the head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexei Sorokin appreciated double standards against countries in sports. His words are given by Izvestia.
Sorokin gave an example of Russia and Israel. “Israel everything that he did came off, and for some reason we were in isolation. Here is such a ball of relationships and contradictions that you can’t describe everything in two words, ”Sorokin said.
In the fall of 2024, it became known that the International Football Federation (FIFA) decided not to remove the Israeli national team from international competitions. The Federation refused the request of the Palestinian football association.
The Russian teams were removed from international tournaments after the start of a special operation in Ukraine. Israeli teams continue to speak in the competition, despite the military operation in Palestine.
