Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular. A record was broken in Poland

Poles are increasingly keen to buy electric cars, and June was a record month in this respect. The largest number of electric cars in history was registered in Poland. The most popular are two models produced by Tesla.

According to data, 2,638 electric vehicles were registered in Poland in June 2024, of which 2,115 were passenger cars. This is the first time that more than 2,000 electric cars have been entered into the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPiK).

In the first half of 2024, a total of 8,861 new electric cars were registered in Poland. In the same period last year, there were 8,497 such registrations, which means a change of 4.3%.

In June this year alone, 2,115 new electric cars were registered, accounting for 4.2% of all passenger vehicle registrations. This is 0.2 percentage points less compared to June 2023, but 1.2 percentage points more compared to May this year.

In addition, 146 electric delivery vehicles were registered. Their share of the total number of delivery vehicles was 2.2%. In June 2024, 21 electric buses, 51 motorcycles and 290 electric mopeds were also registered.

The result of the number of registrations of new electric cars is primarily influenced by two models produced by Tesla. According to data presented by, 1,399 Tesla Model Y cars were registered from January to June 2024. It is currently the most popular electric car in Poland. It is worth noting that in the same period of 2023, 1,270 units of this model were registered, which means an increase of 10.2 percent. In second place is the Tesla Model 3. In the first half of 2024, 1,294 units were registered. For comparison, in the first half of 2023, it was 837 units.

When it comes to the most popular electric cars in Poland, the Volvo EX30 came in third (751 registrations in the first half of the year). The fourth most popular car is the Audi Q4 e-tron with 376 registrations. The next places are occupied by: Kia Niro, Kia EV6, Mercedes-Benz EQA, MG MG4 and Nissan Leaf. The top ten most frequently registered new electric cars in the first half of 2024 is closed by the BMW i4.
