MacRumors: Apple’s foldable and very expensive laptop will have an 18.8-inch screen
Several insiders have predicted the release of the first Apple laptop with a foldable display in 2026. This was reported by MacRumors.
According to authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko, the device will have a screen of 18.8 or 20.2 inches. Analyst Ross Young said that the first folding MacBook will come with an 18.8-inch display. It is expected that when folded, the dimensions of the computer will be similar to those of modern laptops with a 13- or 14-inch screen.
From the disclosed data of Ming-Chi Ko it also follows that the folding computer display will be a complex technical design. Drawing attention to this fact, the specialist said that the laptop will be very expensive. It will probably cost the same as Vision Pro mixed reality glasses, priced at $3,499, or about 317 thousand rubles.
The model will be equipped with a new generation M5 processor. Also, most likely, the device will receive a virtual keyboard, although the final design of the folding MacBook is still being discussed.
In early May, Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu said that Apple planned to release the first devices with a foldable display. The first device will be a foldable tablet, which will appear in 2025.
