Unai Simón has renewed with Athletic Club until June 30, 2029 as the club made known this Friday, May 24. The one from Murgia (Araba) has expanded its links and will not have a termination clause.

Thus, Athletic ensures the continuity of one of its main stars for five more seasons, until the Alava goalkeeper turns 32 years old.

The red and white entity is congratulated that Simón, whom it describes as “iconic goalkeeper” renews “four seasons at the peak of his professional career and he does it again without a termination clause.”

For his part, Unai Simón has declared that he would love “to be the best goalkeeper in the world, but being part of this club”. “I think that’s something very ambitious,” she stressed.
