This Friday, Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, confirmed the absence of midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni in the Champions League final, which will be held on June 1st, at 4pm (Brasília time), in Wembley, England. The Frenchman will miss the Merengue club in the duel against Borussia Dortmund due to a stress injury in his left foot.
“He’s ruled out for the final, but he’ll be there for the European Championship,” said the coach at a press conference.
The midfielder was injured during the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich. It is not the first time that Tchouaméni has faced this injury. In October 2023, he suffered the same injury and was sidelined for 47 days.
This will be an important loss for Real Madrid. The Frenchman started every game he was available in the Champions League knockout stages.

The most likely option to replace him is Eduardo Camavinga, who is often used in the role. He was also chosen when Tchouaméni was away in the quarter-finals of the European tournament, against Manchester City, in the return game. If he wants to improvise, Ancelotti can drop Toni Kroos and start with the experienced Luka Modric.
Despite the bad news, according to Ancelotti, the midfielder is guaranteed for the European Championship, which will be played between June 14th and July 14th, in Germany. Just like at Real Madrid, Aurélien is one of France’s main players and a key player in coach Didier Deschamps’ scheme.
Before the Champions League final, the merengue club takes the field this Saturday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Real Betis, at the Santiago Bernabéu, in the last round of the Spanish Championship.
