MiG-29 in the Polish army. Ten fighters were handed over to Ukraine

MiG-29 are planes whose history begins in the times of the Soviet Union. Work on fighters of this type dates back to the 1970s, and production began in 1983. After the collapse of the USSR, many former Soviet republics continued to use MiG-29 aircraft and modernized the machines to meet new needs. Fighters are still in service with the Polish army.

The Polish Air Force has 14 aircraft of this type, which are stationed at the 22nd Tactical Air Base in Malbork. Previously, the fighters were also stationed at the base in Mińsk Mazowiecki, which in return accepted South Korean FA-50 aircraft. After the outbreak of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, Poland provided 10 MiG-29 fighters in support of Kiev’s troops.
