Android Authority: Android 15 will come with NFC charging support
Google engineers have added support for charging via NFC to Android 15. Android Authority reports this.
According to media specialist Mishaal Rahman, he found a mention of a new feature in the beta code of the new OS. NFC (Near-Field Communication) is primarily intended for contactless payments, but the technology can be used for wireless charging.
Rahman noted that with its help it will be possible to charge gadgets that have a relatively small battery – for example, wireless headphones, styluses, smart tags. The NFC Wireless Charging (WLC) standard, which will be supported in smartphones, relies on the use of smaller antennas than in the case of classic Qi charging.
At the same time, WLC is significantly inferior in power to other charging protocols. It follows from this that you won’t be able to fully charge your smartphone using it. According to Mishaal Rahman, the introduction of the new standard will give more freedom to users of compact electronics.
In early April, journalists from Android Authority discovered an advanced mode in the Android OS for connecting a smartphone to a monitor as a PC. Applications in this mode will open in separate windows, which can be moved around the screen and scaled in size.
