Android 15 will feature a feature to hide your smartphone’s location from your operator
Android smartphone users will be able to effectively hide their location. Android Authority specialist Mishaal Rahman spoke about this.
He took a look at the new Android 15 beta and discovered it had new privacy settings. Thus, users will be able to hide their true location from cellular base stations and telecom operators.
The specialist explained that the operator can find out the subscriber’s geoposition from the signal sent from cell stations. This information can be used by attackers to set up advertising, steal data, or carry out illegal activities. When disabled, the phone prevents detection and allows the user to be hidden.
Mishaal Rahman emphasized that this function will not work if the smartphone is in search mode or during a call to emergency services – to simplify the detection of the device. The author also noted that not all smartphones will support this function.
In mid-March, Android Authority journalists found out that Android would be able to send SMS via satellite. Satellite communication will appear in the iPhone in 2022.
