SamMobile: Samsung showed a wrist-worn smartphone with a flexible screen
The Korean company Samsung showed a prototype of a smartphone that can be worn on the wrist. This was reported by SamMobile.
Unveiled at MWC 2024, the Cling Band features a flexible OLED display and a grooved back panel. Thanks to these features, the gadget can be worn on your wrist like a bracelet or smart watch and used as a smartphone.
The company noted that if you put the smartphone on your wrist, it will begin to record your heart rate and other medical indicators. The Cling Band also has a camera and a USB-C port for charging. Samsung did not disclose the characteristics and other details of the device, noting that the prototype was created to demonstrate the capabilities of flexible displays.
Journalists noticed that Samsung had previously invented smartphones that could be worn on the hand. Thus, in the summer of 2021, the company patented a hybrid device that combines a smartphone and a smartwatch.
Earlier, the South Korean corporation Samsung introduced the Galaxy Ring smart ring. The device collects and analyzes data, based on which it shows the user how productive he is at a given time.
