Apple Vision Pro, futuristic augmented reality goggles from the Cupertino giant, debuted in the United States last week. For several days now, the Internet has been flooded with videos showing owners of this equipment on sidewalks, in restaurants and in cars.
Although Apple’s goggles have not officially arrived in Europe yet, and their Polish premiere has not even been officially confirmed, Vision Pro can be easily purchased in… Russia. This is quite surprising. It is worth recalling that the American company withdrew from the Russian market just a few days after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, and Western countries imposed sanctions on the country, preventing, among others, import of consumer electronics.
Sanctions? What sanctions. Apple Vision Pro already in Russia
So how did Apple Vision Pro get to Russia? , Russians can order goggles via online platforms such as Cdek.shopping. Devices ordered in this store arrive in Russia from the United Arab Emirates. As “Rz” reminds, after the outbreak of the war, numerous companies founded by Russian businessmen began to emerge in this country.
Apple’s Goggles cost $3,499 (256 GB), $3,699 (512 GB) and $3,899 (1 TB) in the official Apple Store. Converting this into Russian currency, it gives approximately 317, 335 and 353 thousand rubles, respectively.
Companies offering to sell Apple Vision Pro in Russia for bringing this gadget to the country that invaded Ukraine in 2022, however, wish for up to two or three times more. In the case of the mentioned Cdek.shopping, the price is approximately PLN 5.5 thousand. dollars. Here, customers must take into account that they will have to wait until March for the device. The latest Apple goggles are available almost immediately on the Yandex Market platform, but for – please note – almost $10,000.
It is worth recalling that immediately after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, many Russian institutions banned employees from using Apple devices. These restrictions include, among others: people employed in the administration of President Vladimir Putin, as well as employees of state hospitals.
