Another company announces price increases. Do you have a number on this network? Each SMS is twice as expensive

This week there was a lot of talk about, among others: about fees introduced by mBank. The popular bank announced that it will change the rules for cash withdrawals from ATMs, including charging fees for withdrawing smaller amounts using BLIK. Now another company is introducing price increases.

Play increases prices in pre-paid offers. The cost of an SMS has doubled

This is specifically about the Play network, which will start charging higher fees to customers using the pre-paid offer. that from March 1 this year the costs of calls and SMSes made to numbers in Poland and roaming in the European Union will increase in all pre-paid offers. Unfortunately, this increase is considerable, especially in the case of telex messages.

Thus, a minute of a voice call to all mobile and landline networks will increase to PLN 79, and sending an SMS or SMS to any number will also cost PLN 79. Previously, outgoing calls in the prepaid option cost 59 groszy, SMS cost only 39 groszy, and MMS – 59 groszy. In the case of text messages, the fee is more than double.

Additionally, the upper limit on the cost of calling Play Customer Service numbers will be abolished. Currently, the maximum cost of such a call cannot be higher than PLN 29 per minute (billed per second) and PLN 1.5 for the entire call. The costs of connecting to the Internet during international roaming will also change. In Zone 1, the new price will be PLN 3.60 per 100 kB, and in Zone 2 it will be PLN 4.80 per 100 kB. Play will also modify the account validity period after each top-up in the Formula Play na Kartę offer (it depends on the top-up amount).

Play explains, however, that the increases should not be severe for most subscribers in the pre-paid offer, because customers have “many opportunities to tailor the offer to their needs.” Specifically, this concerns packages of minutes, text messages and data, which in return for a monthly fee reduce the prices of services, in the case of some offers even to zero (the S Package offers unlimited calls, text messages and 30 GB of internet for PLN 30 per month). .

Nevertheless, the increases will certainly be felt by people who use pre-paid phones more occasionally and who do not feel the need to use monthly minutes, text messages and data packages.
