Bloomberg: The firepower of the Russian Federation at the front is three times greater than the Ukrainian one – the Ukrainian Armed Forces are sitting without shells

On the front line, Russian troops use three times more ammunition daily than the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, writes Bloomberg.

The media quotes the minister’s letter to his colleagues from the European Union, in which he described the critical shortage of ammunition among the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, every day the Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of firing no more than 2 thousand shells along the entire front line.

The agency notes that Ukraine has warned its allies that it faces a “critical” shortage of artillery shells “as Russia deploys three times more firepower on the front lines every day.” At the same time, the weapons shortage in Ukraine is growing every day, so the EU needs to “do more to fulfill its commitment to supply a million artillery shells” in order to at least match the firepower of the Russian army, the publication notes, citing Umerov.

Previously, the media reported that the EU would be able to transfer only about 600 thousand shells to Ukraine by March out of the previously promised 1 million. The Financial Times wrote that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to save shells and in the last two weeks have reduced the number of rounds fired per day by four times.
