Apple sold up to 180 thousand Vision Pro AR headsets in three days
Apple has sold out of all stock of its Vision Pro augmented reality headset. Insider Ming-Chi Ko stated this in his blog on Medium.
According to the specialist, in the three days since the opening of pre-orders for the devices, Apple managed to collect from 160 thousand to 180 thousand applications. In the minimum version, AR glasses were valued at $3.5 thousand. At a rough estimate, the IT giant could earn $630 million between Friday and Monday.
Ming-Chi Ko emphasized that a few hours after the opening of sales, information about the availability of the device changed. If on Friday afternoon Apple promised to deliver the Vision Pro in a few days, then by evening the delivery time was increased to five to seven weeks. The insider also noted that the corporation sold the entire first batch of AR devices.
In addition, the specialist said that the contractor Luxshare, which assembles Vision Pro headsets for Apple, will apparently work continuously even during the Chinese New Year, which will be celebrated on February 10. In conclusion, Ming-Chi Ko said that at this rate, Apple could well sell 500 thousand headsets in the coming months.
Earlier, experts from MacRumors said that Appleās augmented reality headset cannot be fully used outside the United States. This is caused by regional blocking of many functions of AR glasses.
