A triple murder-suicide has left the people of Union County, New Jersey, in pain. It alleges that a Spanish woman is responsible for ending her family after receiving a deportation order.

They identified her as Andrea Alarcón, 42 years old. According to investigations, she shot her husband Rubén Alarcón, 51, and her two daughters, Univisión and La Historia USA reported, the latter on their social networks.

“Poor woman, who makes such a drastic decision, material things are recovered,” says Tania Cabrera, shocked on social networks, who says she experienced a similar situation when Barack Obama governed.

“This is a deeply tragic event that has shaken our community to its core,” said Union Police Director Christopher Donnelly, quoted on Univision.

Alarcón’s daughters attended Hanna Caldwell Elementary School, there in Union.

Deportation order

The shocking event has shattered the peace in the community since Wednesday, January 17

The prosecutor’s office reported, according to the American network, that last Wednesday at 10:30 am, officers from the County Sheriff’s Department arrived to issue an eviction notice.

The uniformed officers entered the home, located at 1329 Lincrest Terrace, “when they received no response. Once inside, they found the family members dead.”

The woman is said to have shot her husband first. He then shot his two daughters, who social media users have identified as Emma and Scarlett.

When they received no response, they went inside and found the four family members dead.

A drama that is further emphasized: another mother murdered her three children and committed suicide, this time it happened in Chile and the woman is said to have sent WhatsApp messages to her husband

They mourn the tragedy

Authorities did not say where the family came from. A journalist, Adriana Vargas, said on her X account (formerly Twitter) that Alarcón was from Colombia.

The Homeless New Yorker site noted that the tragedy occurred “just before deputies came to evict them from the home they had lost to the foreclosure.”

Local media, reported by Univisión, assured that “the family would be immediately evicted.”

Citing data from specialty real estate pages, the news network explained that the house was sold on November 2, 2023 for an estimated price of $332,000.

The news is heartbreaking. “How desperate this lady must have been to make this drastic and regrettable decision,” said Ivette Bonachea.

Janeth Vigil said: “That’s sad, the girls were not to blame for what happened. Unfortunately, banks and lenders do not grant deferrals, on the contrary, there is always more interest, so responsible payments are essential.”

According to the district attorney, William A. Daniel, “there are no words for tragedies of this magnitude.”
