9to5Google: Samsung will charge money for AI work on Galaxy S24 smartphones
The Galaxy AI artificial intelligence (AI) assistant introduced on Samsung smartphones turned out to be paid. This was reported by 9to5Google.
A mention of this was found in the user agreement. The Korean company’s materials say that Galaxy AI will be available for free until the end of 2025, and then the manufacturer will charge money for the service. “Different terms and conditions may apply to AI functions provided by third parties,” the contract also notes.
It is not yet known how much a paid subscription to Galaxy AI will cost. At the same time, the authors noticed that almost all AI options, except for language translation, work through the company’s servers. That is, Samsung will be able to remotely disable them for a number of users.
According to experts, Samsung may change its mind in the future. The authors recalled that at one time Google launched a paid sleep detection function on Nest Hub smart displays, but after a while it did not charge money for the service.
Earlier it became known that pre-orders for new flagship Samsung smartphones were launched in Russia. In M.Video-Eldorado, the launch Galaxy S24 was valued at 90 thousand rubles, Galaxy S24+ – 112 thousand rubles, Galaxy S24 Ultra – 147 thousand rubles.
