The 2024 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was all about artificial intelligence and major technology companies opted for AI as a trend for this year. Probably after the popularity of tools like ChatGPT, which were well received last year.

Companies such as Samsung, Amazon, Sony and LG, among others, have taken a gamble on AI in their new presentations, but it’s not the only thing that was available to those who attended the Las Vegas eventUNITED STATES.

The day was also all about sustainability, as more and more companies are committed to reducing their impact on the environment, such as houses that use the energy of an electronic car, but also solar panels.

AI technology is transforming the way products are used, whether they are televisions, home appliances and more. On the other hand, Ballie is back. A prototype of this robot was presented in 2020 and it is finally here. Powered by AI, Ballie is a robot that can communicate with other smart devices to provide personalized services, such as performing certain tasks or projecting images and videos onto walls. LG Electronics will introduce the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV at CES 2024. The LG SIGNATURE OLED T combines a 4K OLED transparent display and LG’s wireless video and audio streaming technology to transform the on-screen experience in ways never before possible.

The transparent OLED screen eliminates the usual limitations associated with conventional televisions. It is no longer necessary to place the TV against the wall. This product is the winner of five CES 2024 innovation awards, including the Best of Innovation award.

Sony

Sony Corporation is developing an innovative Extended Reality (XR) headset, which will be available later this year. This device, which integrates 4K OLED microdisplays, is designed for creating three-dimensional content in areas such as entertainment.

Users can view and modify full 3D models within an XR environment, with the ability to integrate third-party 3D creation applications.

XPENG, the Asian company that produces flying vehicles, showed off the new eVOLT Flying car, a flying car that allows you to take off a short distance to avoid an obstacle. In driving mode this is a luxurious, exclusive and elegant car, but when you put it in flight mode, it deploys its propellers.

Beauty and health

One of the most anticipated releases is the HAPTAa device made by Lancome facilitating makeup application in people with reduced mobility. This device levels itself and learns the user’s movements in real time.

For its part, L’Oréal Is associated with Zuvia leading start-up company in light optics and brand new microelectronics AirLight Pro. This is a dryer that uses infrared technology to dry faster without compromising hair health, but that’s not all. According to the company, its mirror can evaluate the risks of diseases such as type 2 diabetes thanks to optical technology and artificial intelligence software.

People with physical disabilities can improve their quality of life with this technology. The Wimagine brain implant, developed by the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), could allow people with paralysis to walk again. This device, equipped with electrodes, is directly connected to the motor cortex, which controls the voluntary movement of patients with spinal cord injury or tetraplegia. (JO)
