Samsung showed a prototype of headphones, the case of which has a display
Samsung Corporation showed off wireless headphones with a case equipped with a display. This was reported by TechRadar.
The Galaxy Buds device with a case in which a round color OLED display is built-in was presented at CES 2024. Screensavers can be installed on the screen, with the help of which the user can view and switch tracks, adjust the sound volume, and check the headset battery level.
According to Samsung representatives, the disclosed gadget is a prototype and the company does not plan to release such a device in the near future.
TechRadar journalists recalled that the South Korean company was not the first company to integrate a screen into its headphones. At the beginning of 2023, JBL introduced the Tour Pro 2 headset, which included a display in the body. The authors noted that the screen in the headphone case has a significant drawback – it noticeably drains the case’s battery.
In December 2022, Huawei introduced smartwatches that have built-in wireless headphones. Huawei Watch Buds runs on the HarmonyOS operating system.
