TechSpot: Smartphones will get 200x zoom thanks to Samsung’s telephoto lens
In 2024, thanks to Samsung equipment, a smartphone with a camera with a record zoom will enter the market. TechSpot reports this.
Media journalists cited a report from a well-known insider under the nickname Digital Chat Station, who said that Samsung will release a 200-megapixel sensor with support for 200x zoom. The first phone with such a lens will be released by Vivo, which is controlled by the Chinese corporation BBK Electronics.
According to specialists, the future smartphone will be called X100 Pro Plus. The camera of the device will be equipped with a 1/1.5-inch sensor and a focal length of 100 millimeters. The device’s camera will also feature 10x optical zoom.
The smartphone should have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 2K resolution screen, 12 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of internal memory. The release date of Vivo X100 Pro Plus has not been disclosed.
The material says that Vivo brand phones are mostly distributed in China and developing countries. However, a telephoto lens with a 200x zoom may also appear in devices from the OnePlus, Oppo, iQOO and Realme brands, which also belong to BBK.
In October, Samsung announced the Exynos 2400 chip, which will appear in the Galaxy S24 smartphone. The processor is focused on working with artificial intelligence (AI) and supports work with 200-megapixel cameras.
