A family tragedy mourns an entire municipality in Zulia state, Venezuela. On Wednesday afternoon, December 20, 2023, two minor sisters drowned. They blame their mother for the shocking tragedy.
The victims Bianca and Fiorella were 4 and 2 years old respectively. They arrived from Colombia with their mother two months ago. The woman has lived in that country for the past five years, her father and the children’s grandfather, Rafael Sandrea, told the newspaper El Regional del Zulia.
Christmas will no longer be what they expected in the 12 de Octubre district of the municipality of Cabimas. In the Sandrea family home, there are still no clear answers to try to understand what led to such a brutal situation.

“Hands and feet tied to drown them”
On the afternoon of December 20, the two girls were “tied hand and foot and placed in a water pipe (barrel) by their own mother,” El Pitazo and El Regional del Zulia reported.
The woman, identified by the initials of her first and last name as RBSJ, has been held in a police station of the Center for Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation (Cicpc) since Wednesday evening.
In networking, Wuberney Alzate Torres noted: “The mother is Roselyn Sandrea, 38 years old.”
The girls’ grandfather stated that he was at a gas station when his wife informed him of the tragedy through a call to his cell phone. He said they took the babies to Cabimas Hospital where they confirmed their deaths.
The case has been a blow to the hearts of Zulians, who pray for the little sisters’ eternal rest. There was no wake for the girls. They were buried on Thursday afternoon, December 21.
“This is a very difficult moment for our family, we prefer not to watch over them,” Sandrea told El Regional del Zulia. It was his wish and that of his wife not to worsen this indescribable situation. The burial took place at the Cabimas Municipal Cemetery.

Did he confess to the double crime?
According to the media Foco Informativo, the parent has ‘confessed’ to the crime. They noted that CICPC officials “took the case because, according to the grandparents, the girls died after falling into a pool on the patio of their home.”

The version was not “credible” according to the aforementioned media and they moved to Trujillo Alley in the 12 de Octubre district. The police found Bianca and Fiorella’s mother in the house.
“After a brief interrogation, the woman broke down and narrated the horrific incident, reporting that she had tied her hands and feet and placed them in separate water pipes,” Foco Informativo reported.
In digital media they claim that the woman has a 9-year-old son. According to Rafael Sandrea, the suspect’s partner in such a painful case has left for the United States.
Sandrea revealed that her daughter had an illness. In El Pitazo they published, citing informants: “He has psychiatric problems, he suffers from schizophrenia, he hears voices.”
