Eight children were injured as a result of a slide collapse in Khakassia. This was reported by the head of the Ust-Abakan region, Elena Egorova.

The emergency occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, December 23, in the village of Ust-Abakan, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Khakassia said. It was determined that the landing platform on the wooden children’s slide had partially collapsed.

Following the incident, the prosecutor’s office is already conducting an investigation, within the framework of which all the circumstances of the incident are clarified, and compliance with safety requirements during the manufacture, installation and operation of the structure will also be assessed.

For its part, the Investigative Committee of Russia noted that while riding down the slide, the children fell from a three-meter height.

As Lenta.ru writes with reference to the Shot Telegram channel, the site of the collapsed slide was not properly secured. At the time of the collapse, about ten people had gathered on it, and the structure could not stand it.

It is clarified that two children, nine and ten years old, were taken to a hospital in Abakan with a suspected tibia fracture, and five more were hospitalized in Chernogorsk.

Earlier it was reported that a reinforced concrete slab killed a seventh-grader in the Bryansk region.
