Four beer companies with a high impact in the country announced the creation of the Peruvian Beer Chamber (CCP), with the aim of strengthening the commitment to the development of this industry in the country.
This group, made up of Heineken Perú, Backus, Candelaria and Sierra Andina, focuses on social, economic and environmental aspects, and seeks to promote responsible consumption, generate new economic experiences and promote the circular economy.
“The collaboration between leading companies aims to consolidate beer as a symbol of prosperity and national pride,” says the organization. In Peru, per capita beer consumption, according to a latest study by Euromonitor International, is 46 liters per year.
The purpose of the Peruvian Beer Chamber is not only to promote the development of the sector, but also to expand the positive impact throughout its value chain. Therefore, it seeks to attract more associates committed to the mission of positioning beer as a “symbol of prosperity and pride for Peruvians.”
“Being part of the CCP allows us to raise awareness and highlight the value of beer to our different stakeholders, in addition to making known the social, economic and environmental contribution of the sector to the country. We are very happy to participate in actions that help move the country forward,” said Alejandra Jimenez, director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Heineken Peru.
SNI: Peru, Land of Brewers
With the aim of continuing to spread beer culture in the country, the Tierra de Cerveceros project was also launched, a project designed by the Beer Manufacturers Committee of the National Society of Industries (SNI).
This initiative seeks to “explore, propagate and raise public awareness about the value of beer”, as well as its significant contribution to the economic development of the country. Likewise, it encourages the market to preserve the culture and traditions of the Peruvian brewery.
