T3: AI support will be added to cheap smartphones thanks to powerful processors

In 2024, low-cost smartphones will have built-in support for artificial intelligence (AI). This was reported by T3.

According to media journalists, AI support will not be exclusive only to flagship devices. Experts noted that due to the increased power of processors, new technologies will be available even in cheap devices.

As an example, journalists cited the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, released for sub-flagships and low-cost phones. The chip has a peak frequency of 2.63 gigahertz and GPU power has increased by 50 percent. Also, the built-in neural processor provides 60 percent greater AI performance than the previous generation model.

“By the end of the year, it will be harder to find an Android smartphone that doesn’t have impressive AI capabilities than one that does,” the authors noted. At the same time, the first smartphones on the market with built-in support for new technologies will be flagships: in particular, Qualcomm has released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for top models.

In early November, journalists from SamMobile stated that future Samsung smartphones will receive built-in support for artificial intelligence. According to insiders, the first such devices will be Galaxy S24 series smartphones.
