The boy went to a party with some friends on the night of Wednesday, October 11, on the way to Seville. He was wearing beige pants and a green shirt. His clothing and specific information had been the most discussed since Thursday afternoon the 12th, when the disappearance was reported.

Prieto was an 18-year-old Córdoba CF youth player, and after the evening of fun “he planned to return to Córdoba, but apparently he missed his train and his cell phone battery died.”

According to what was reported in EFE, “at that moment he decided to board another train without the corresponding ticket, although he was noticed by the train staff who urged him to leave the convoy.”

The station’s cameras show the young man leaving Santa Justa station on foot; the last images they had of him were when he left the building toward Kansas City Avenue. At 9 a.m. it was said to be his last record in the cameras, Onda Cero reported.

The family was waiting for him at home. He sent the last WhatsApp message to his parents, Antena 3 published: “I’m going to the stop.”

He wrote that on Thursday morning around 7:22 am on the way to Santa Justa station.

In the midst of her anguish, the mother said that Álvaro “did not disappear voluntarily and was considering two possibilities: that he left in a stranger’s car or that he was run over.”

“Álvaro, we are waiting for you”

The search began. Friends replicated the information and a phone number to report news.

Last weekend the media reported how solidarity with Prieto’s family reached the football stadiums. In the stands and for several minutes on the playing field, messages such as “Álvaro, we are waiting for you” and “Álvaro come back soon” could be seen.

“Stop, stop the images. How do you publish them,” they responded on networks as soon as the media posted the video.

It didn’t take long for the authorities to confirm and announce the painful news: it was the lifeless body of Álvaro Prieto.

RTVE deeply regretted the live broadcast images and opened an internal investigation. Meanwhile, the Spanish sporting world unites and embraces the young footballer’s family.
