The British Police have Greta Thunberg arrested this Tuesday while participating in a demonstration against fossil fuels near a prestigious hotel in central London where oil company executives were staying.

The organizing entity of the protest, the Fossil Free London association, has reported on social networks the arrest of the young Swedish activist. In addition, she has shared a photograph of her arrest and a video in which you can see how Officers escort Thunberg to a police vehicle.

Previously, the organization had celebrated Thunberg’s participation in the rally and had shared part of her speech, in which she warned that the elites “have no intention” of making an ecological transition, so urged “to take direct action” and “regain power”.

The demonstration took place on the first day of Energy Intelligence Forumformerly known as the Oil and Money conference, and in which the top leaders of the oil companies Shell and Total are scheduled to speak, according to the ‘BBC’ network.

Thunberg has already been arrested on several occasions for participating in environmental protests. In mid-January it was already held by German police for participating in a demonstration against the demolition of a mining town, and weeks later, in March, he was detained in Norway during a demonstration for the rights of the Sami community.

Just a week ago, a Swedish court sanctioned Thunberg with 90 daily fines of 50 Swedish crowns, which amounts to almost 400 euros, accused of civil disobedience.
