The last time Daniel Sancho and Edwin Arrieta saw each other in Madrid, Spain, the chef was opening a food company and the surgeon was accompanying him. He recorded it too and the images reached the mobile phones of the doctor’s friends.

That happened in June. Two months before Arrieta was murdered. Sancho has been in custody since August 2023 for the crime, which took place in Thailand.

The plastic surgeon, originally from Lorica, Colombia, was recorded exercising and dancing in Madrid’s famous El Retiro Park. For example, in ‘And now Sonsoles’ they showed photos of him sitting on the Plaza Mayor enjoying a cup of coffee.

They agreed to meet in Thailand

That was the last time they saw each other in the Spanish capital. In the aforementioned program, they explain that Edwin Arrieta traveled to Colombia and then to Chile for work reasons.

They had agreed to meet in Thailand in early August. Arrieta arrived in the Asian country and Sancho received him. On the 5th of that month, after the surgeon was reported missing, Sancho declared he had committed suicide, Thai authorities said.

Arrieta’s body was dismembered and his remains were scattered in a garbage dump and in the sea. Since then, many ahuas have passed under the bridges and the chef is awaiting trial for the murder of the Colombian surgeon. (JO)
