The tech giant remembered its special day this Wednesday with the inevitable drawing thematically, where the central vowels of the name (“oo”) were converted into the number 25. “While we’re forward-looking here at Google, birthdays can also be a time to reflect,” the company wrote in the text accompanying today’s doodle launch. The writing is a reminder that Google was born from the minds of PhD students Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who met while entering computer science training at Stanford University in the late 1990s. Their dream was to turn the World Wide Web (www) into a “more accessible” place, with an improved search engine.
