The first generation of iPhone SE debuted in 2016, and you had to wait four years for the second one (until 2020). The third generation iPhone SE debuted after two years (in March 2022) and it looks like this two-year release cycle may be maintained. According to leaks, Apple is working on a new phone with the note SE in its name.
The cheaper iPhone SE will debut soon. What will change?
iPhones from the SE series are intended to be smartphones with the best features of Apple’s flagship models, but offered at a lower price (which does not mean that at a low price). It’s no wonder that the iPhone SE (or rather the first two generations of the series) has gathered a large group of enthusiasts. Now it turns out that Apple is apparently already working on another device that will combine a lower price with the logo of a bitten apple on the casing.
According to reports shared by the Nithin Prasad channel on Portal cameras, as well as Face ID technology. There will also be a 6.1-inch LTPS OLED screen, but still without support for faster image refreshment (only 60 Hz). According to the informant, its quality will be similar to the display from the basic version of iPhone 14.
The most interesting changes, however, will concern design. Apple will reportedly build a smartphone using the design of the iPhone XR, which premiered… in 2018. So we can expect relatively thick frames around the screen, a huge cutout (notch) in the upper part of the screen and a round, not very elegant casing.
It doesn’t sound very encouraging, but compared to the third-generation iPhone SE, the changes will be huge. The 3 was already quite intimidating at the time of its premiere, and its design resembled smartphones from six or eight years ago. The fourth generation will therefore be a real breath of fresh air in this context. According to leaks, the smartphone is expected to debut in 2024, although it is possible that Apple will delay its premiere until early 2025 for some reason.
