On August 14, the IIHF suspended Fedotov for four months, but the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) still allowed him to play. CSKA banned international transfers for a year. The IIHF refused the army team to register a contract with Fedotov for the new KHL season due to the player’s current agreement with the Philadelphia Flyers club of the National Hockey League (NHL).
