At least four people have died and three remain missing after the heavy floods recorded in Pennsylvania, in the northeastern United States, on Saturday, local authorities indicated this on Sunday.

Upper Makefield Township fire chief Tim Brewer said at a news conference that a fourth body and that among the disappeared there are two brothers: a nine-month-old baby and a two-year-old girl.

A woman is also being sought among the missing.added the Upper Makefield Police Department on its Facebook page.

The flooding occurred on Saturday afternoon and swept away three cars that were circulating. According to Brewer’s statements, published by The New York Times, between 5 and 7 inches of rain fell in North Philadelphia, the state’s most populous city, in less than 45 minutes.

The National Weather Service (NWS, for its acronym in English) pointed out this Sunday that there are about 40 million people in the northeastern United States at moderate risk of heavy rainfall, with a risk of flash flooding.
