Business Korea: Apple to release first MacBook with foldable display in 2026
Apple Corporation has begun work on a portable computer with a folding screen. This is reported by Business Korea.
From the disclosed insider data, it follows that the corporation intends to enter the market of laptops with a folding display. According to sources, Apple planned to announce a new device at the end of 2025 and release the device to the market in 2026.
Media specialists noted that the entry of the American IT giant into the growing market of folding computers will give impetus to the development of the segment. According to journalists, the largest manufacturers of foldable OLED panels – Samsung Display and LG Display – are most interested in new contracts with Apple and other companies.
The report says that the production of large foldable OLED panels for laptops will bring in more money for suppliers than the production of foldable displays for smartphones. At the same time, the production of large panels is much more difficult than compact ones.
On June 5, the American company Apple introduced an updated MacBook Air computer. The device received a 15-inch screen, an M2 processor, two USB-C connectors. The new computer was estimated at 1299 dollars, or about 119 thousand rubles.
