The Republic of Ireland government authorities have launched a scheme called ‘Our Living Islands’, with the aim of populating more than 20 of the idyllic islands that stretch off the west coast. The project consists of offer $92,000 to those who want to move to these sites far from their homeland. This money would be used to settle in the area.

These islands lie off the coast of Ireland and are not connected to the mainland by any bridge or causeway. The plan’s website states that the goal of this policy is to ensure that sustainable and vibrant communities can continue to live and thrive on offshore islands for many years to come.

This program will take effect on July 1, 2023 and people who want to live in that country must meet one single requirement: have bought a home on one of the islands. Part of the state’s money will be used to restore some of the old buildings that still stand on the archipelago after their original inhabitants left the place several generations ago.
