Blogger nicknamed PhoneBuff tested the strength of the new Apple smartphone. The corresponding video is available on the YouTube channel of the author.

The enthusiast dropped the smartphone four times from the height of human growth and spoke about the consequences. To simulate a fall of the device in the street, the blogger threw the iPhone on a stone slab. As a result of the first fall, the back panel of the smartphone was broken, and the camera lenses were damaged. In the next round, the author dropped the phone on the side frame, noting the appearance of small scratches.

In the penultimate round of the crash test, PhoneBuff dropped the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the screen down: the display was covered with scratches, but continued to work. At the end of the test, the specialist threw the smartphone screen down again and noted the appearance of new scratches and cracks, but after all the tests, the device continued to function.

In conclusion, the enthusiast noted that the new Apple smartphone can easily break on contact with a hard surface, since the front and back panels of the device are made of glass. However, this did not affect the performance of the phone. The blogger advised owners of new iPhones to use a protective case.

Previously, iFixit experts rated the maintainability of the new Apple smartphone at 6 out of 10 points. Experts have noticed that replacing the most expensive part of the iPhone 14 Pro Max – the back panel – will cost $549.
