Hours of despair experienced the children and other relatives of a woman who disappeared since the night of Friday, May 5, 2023 in Gijón, Spain.
María Esther López, 55, works as a cleaning assistant in a family home. She was widowed; mother of 3 children and happy grandmother of a girl.
He left for that address around noon on Friday and did not return home, sparking fear among his relatives, who notified authorities of such a strange disappearance.
María Esther was from Asturias and with her children – two live in Madrid and one in Mallorca – she communicated often, so the long silence was not normal.
“He doesn’t answer messages or calls,” said one of those who came in on Saturday the 6th.

During that time, El Español reveals, María Esther’s children notified more relatives and friends living in Gijón to go to her house to check if she was there.
They announced that they would go to Gijón to look for their mother. They even filed a missing person report at the police station.
One of his sons, “who lives in Madrid and has moved to the province of Asturias”, stated that when he arrived at his mother’s house “the door was locked with two turns of the key, as usual, the money was in his place and the dryer and other belongings were from combing his hair”.
They asked the neighbors for help, the more people found out, the sooner they might know where the mother was, they would think.
A daughter in Mallorca said she spoke on the phone with María Esther on Friday. He didn’t notice anything strange.
What was known was that he had gone to work at some acquaintances’ house, located on Manuel Llaneza Street.
The worst predictions are confirmed. They find Maria Esther dead 😢😣😫 my deepest condolences, to family and friends #THE P

The bad hour of María Esther
María Esther had gone to clean a house whose owners had left on Friday to return on Sunday, May 7.
The whole weekend passed with no news about María Esther. Fatality was about to become known: on Sunday night, when that family returned home, they found the unexpected and painful scene.
María Esther was inert on the floor very close to a staircase, El Comercio reported.
The woman died trying to hang curtains… she had fallen down the stairs. It was learned that she had lost her husband four years ago.
The family told El Comercio: “She had a really bad time when she became a widow, but she was improving and was very excited about her one-year-old granddaughter. She was due to travel to Mallorca just this week to be with her.” .”
