A unique and fun mother, at the same time as everyone, full of love and compassion. It was Diana of Wales, the eternal princess, who during the 15 years she enjoyed motherhood, tried to give her children as normal a childhood as possible in the world of the royal family in which they grew up.
Before being a princess and wife of the Prince of Wales, heir to the throne, Diana’s priority was being a mother. When William was born on June 21, 1982, now 40 years old, he felt that his life had meaning. A feeling that was completed by the arrival of Harry, on September 15, 1984, currently 38 years old.

The first wife of King Carlos III, who died on August 31, 1997, was loved by the British for her naturalness and closed-mindedness. And if she will be remembered forever for anything, it will be that she violated royal protocol on numerous occasions for humanitarian reasons, and even more so when the lives of her children were at stake.
“I love my children to death and hope that the seeds I have planted in them will grow and bring them the strength, knowledge and stability they need,” read the letter, which was recently discovered by Paul Burrell, the princess’s butler for 21 years.

The day Diana ran barefoot
In her desire to raise her two children normally, Diana managed to make William one of the first heirs to the throne to be born in a hospital, nursed by her and go to public school. She even accompanied him to school.

One of Lady Di’s most memorable anecdotes as a mother dates back to 1989, when she took off her shoes and ran barefoot in the garden of Wetherby School in Notting Hill, where they were celebrating Mother’s Day.
The photo is epic: she’s makeup-free, her hair down, focused on a competition at William’s school, determined to win the race against the other moms. She was dressed in white: a long skirt and a sweater.

The scene repeated itself in 1991, on Sports Day, when his appearance was less comfortable, but this did not prevent him from participating. She wore a long beige skirt, a belt around her waist and a basic black top and formal blazer. This time he came in second place, reports El Comercio.

In her postcard on the social network, Burrell points out that Diana’s words in the letter are “a mother’s unconditional love that are as relevant today as when she wrote them more than 24 years ago”.
He added: “Above all, Diana would want her two children to be happy. What a shame he is not here today to nurture his grandchildren and help guide them towards their future.”
