CIRP: The average price of Apple smartphones has reached nearly $1,000
The average price of Apple smartphones reached nearly $1,000 in the first quarter of 2023. This is reported in the report of the analytical company CIRP.
According to her, in March, the ASP (average selling price, the average selling price) of Apple-branded phones rose to a record high of $988, or about 79,000 rubles. This means that consumers are more likely to purchase expensive device models. CIRP experts noted that ASP usually reaches a high level in September and December – after the announcement of new smartphones and before the New Year holidays.
However, in the fall of 2022, the average cost of an iPhone reached only $957, at the end of the year – $972. For comparison, at the end of 2021, the ASP was $949, at the end of 2020 it was $873.
The firm’s experts emphasized that the growth of ASP is associated with high demand for Apple’s premium models – the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Also, consumers are more likely to buy expensive devices, as the gadgets of the American brand are slowly depreciating in price.
Earlier, Counterpoint Research analysts said that in 2022, Apple and Samsung sold the most refurbished smartphones. The top also includes Chinese manufacturers Vivo, Oppo and Huawei.
