The options for using the future alternative reality headset from Apple are disclosed. It is reported by Bloomberg.

According to Mark Gurman, a journalist familiar with the company’s plans, Apple intends to advertise its virtual and augmented reality headset as a multifunctional device. So, the company will promote the device as a device for collaboration, interactive games, fitness and watching sports events. Also, the device will receive adapted versions of popular applications for iPhone and iPad.

Gurman found out that most of the efforts of engineers and designers working on a new device are aimed at adapting applications that are familiar to users of smartphones and tablets. “Consumers will be able to access millions of existing third-party software through a new 3D interface,” said the author, who calls the Apple gadget a “mixed reality headset.”

So, in the first generation of the device, optimized versions of the Safari browser, Calendar, Notes, Contacts, Mail, and Maps services will appear. The headset will also receive applications for messaging, video calling, listening to music and watching videos.

Gurman observed that Apple’s hardware products have long depended on having a solid assortment of software. According to the insider, in this regard, the employees of the corporation are guided by the slogan of the founder of the company, Steve Jobs, “There is an application for this.”

Earlier, Mark Gurman said that Apple will introduce a mixed reality headset next summer. In addition to the $3,000 device, the corporation will show the xrOS operating system and a software development kit.
