If you want to work legally in the United States, the government is about to launch 10,000 visas for foreigners with the aim of getting temporary work in the country.
The United States Union Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has confirmed that starting Thursday, April 13, they will receive applications for H-2B visas, which will be issued to temporary non-farm workers.
With these visas, employees can work between May 15 and September 30, 2023.
The United States will increase the price of visas from May 2023 and these are the new fees to be paid
Workers who received their visas in the first half of the fiscal year stopped accepting applications on March 30.
These 10,000 visas are intended to cover the limit of 64,716 additional visas approved for fiscal year 2023 by the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Department of Labor.
Of the more than 64,000 visas, 20,000 are reserved for citizens of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. USCIS still has more than 8,000 visas available for employees of these nationalities.

What is the H-2B visa for?
The H-2B visa allows foreigners to gain temporary employment in the United States in landscaping, construction, cleaning, and hotel jobs, as well as factory workers, waiters, forestry workers, and animal care workers.
The most in-demand occupations with this status are landscape architect, camp cook, planning secretary, construction supervisor and carpenter.
According to the US authorities, the maximum length of stay in the United States with the H-2B visa is three years.
“These additional visas are only available to U.S. companies that are irreparably damaged or threatened with irreparable damage without the ability to employ all H-2B workers requested in their petition,” USCIS clarifies.
The Citizenship and Immigration Services indicates that under this rule they must be presented to the California Service Center and those sent to other offices will be automatically rejected.
