Word of mouth goes by the name of the mayor of a city in Colombia. At the moment, they also know him abroad thanks to the social networks that exploded when they released a video that they quickly called “embarrassing”.

His name is Martín Mejía Londoño and he is the first civil authority in Calima El Darién, located in Valle del Cauca. Mejía Londoño was filmed “half naked” in a nightclub during Holy Week.

The video of the mayor raising his buttocks is going viral

The material went viral and, Semana points out, “the mayor is seen doing some kind of dance in the nightclub with no shirt and pants down, while people are around him.”

When she turns around, she shows her buttocks. Some men approach the officer, perhaps “to make him realize what he was doing.”

However, the Colombian magazine points out that Mejía Londoño appeared to be drunk, so he ignored them.

“Dig mayor”, they shout to him. Finally, the recording shows him pulling up his pants.

what happened at the disco

The events took place on April 9, 2023 in the nightclub El Bohío, the owner of which is Juan Benítez, a former employee of the mayor’s office and who remembers working for the Mejía Londoño campaign.

Benítez told, according to Snail Radio, that the mayor ‘met a boy who was very close to him. They drank a lot of liquor and got drunk.”

He said he didn’t call the mayor’s wife because he allegedly told him that “they were arguing.”

“When I saw they were recording it, I called him and put him in another place,” he said, according to what was revealed on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

They gave him something in his drink, says the mayor’s wife

The same station contains statements by Érika Soto, wife of the mayor of Calima El Darién.

For the woman, her partner got “something in his drink that changed his personality.”

According to his accounts, Mejía Londoño spent between 2 and 3 hours at El Bohío nightclub, which he eventually visited.

Benítez claims that their nightclub does not sell counterfeit liquor and claims he can prove it with invoices.

“When you’re under the influence of a drug, you don’t know what you’re doing,” says Érika Soto.

The circle around the president reported “that he was hospitalized because he was allegedly given burundanga (scopolamine) and counterfeit liquor during the party,” El Colombiano reported on Tuesday, April 11.

Later on, the W published: “The mayor of Calima El Darién, Martín Mejía Londoño, was admitted to a clinic in Cali, where they conducted toxicological tests to determine whether there had been ingestion of adulterated liquor. This was confirmed by his lawyer Armando Escobar.

According to RCN News, “This wouldn’t be the first time the mayor has starred in these scenes. Four months ago, also in an apparent state of alcoholism, he stood on a stage, snatched a performer’s microphone and said several deviant phrases.

This medium indicates that the Attorney General’s Office has opened a preliminary investigation into his episode of exhibitionism during Holy Week.

In addition, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced “measures to determine whether the conduct carried out has sufficient weight to be subject to disciplinary action”.

For RCN News, the owner of the “disco” laments that they are taking advantage of the controversial episode and “have come to destroy a capital. My business (…)”.

He pointed out that if the drink was apparently adulterated, “why didn’t anything happen to the other people sitting at the table but only him?”

what did the lawyer say

The lawyer Escobar presented the results of the toxicological tests to which Mejía Londoño was subjected, “indicating that the presence of psychoactive substances has been detected in the urine”.

“During the screening for drug abuse in the urine, that is deduced tested positive for metabolic benzodiazepinewhich is a very dangerous substance that is generally used in the preparation or in combination with scopolamine and this with the aim that the victim does not provoke violent reactions and, on the contrary, can be easily subdued,” informed ‘La W’ and discussed El Heraldo, on the morning of Wednesday, April 12.
