On Tuesday, another attack was registered at an educational institution in Brazila week after a person killed four children in a nursery school in the country and just a day after a student stabbed a teacher and two other students.

On this occasion, the attack was committed by a 13-year-old student at the public school Doutor Marco Aurélio de Santa Tereza. Three of his classmates were injured after the student threw firecrackers to force everyone into the hallway, where he took a knife and started attacking them.

The teen then followed a teacher, who managed to lock herself in a classroom before catching up with her. A school janitor was the one who incapacitated the minor until authorities arrived.

planned attack

“The student who promoted the attack has no history of violence,” police said. However, there are indications that he was already planning the attack.

Police found “equipment and notes showing that he had been planning the attack for some time,” police officer Stanislao Montserrat said. It was also reported that the student will answer for the crime of three attempted murders.

The three injured students are out of danger, authorities confirmed.

Brazil records 93 victims of school firearm attacks between 2002 and 2022, according to a recent survey by the Sou da Paz Institute (I am of Peace).
