While conducting a police operation in Sabadell, northwest of Barcelona, Spain, they managed to rescue seven Colombian women who had been sexually exploited from the clutches of human trafficking.

Security forces dismantled the prostitution gang by arresting five people.

These test subjects used the vulnerability of the victims for their own gain, with illegally obtained money from prostitution.

They accuse former Miss Venezuela of trafficking women for prostitution in Mexico: the model refuses to be extradited to the United States, pointing out that it is all revenge against her ex-boyfriend

Modus operandi of the prostitution network

As often happens, the women were caught with tricks.

“They offered them a job as a service worker in that part of Spain. However, as soon as they got there, they were taken to the basement of a house – along with other women, in a state of overcrowding – their passports, phones and money were taken from them,” El Colombiano reported Monday, March 27, 2023.

The women were sexually exploited and monitored throughout the day in a house monitored by security cameras, EFE published.

They were offered work through social networks and forced into prostitution; Those involved were sentenced to 21 years in prison.

According to the Global Chronicle of El Español, “The women had to sleep dressed in case a client appeared and ask permission to go out, something they could only do in groups of two and in areas close to the scene.

But there was more to that ‘hell’ in which they had to live: women were ‘subject to strict scrutiny’ and faced economic sanctions if they did not comply with what was required or had sexual relations outside the organisation.

“Customers attacked them if they did not comply with their wishes and they were also forced to use drugs and engage in prostitution even when they were sick,” the country’s media reported.

raids

In the raids, El Colombiano reported, “the authorities found a lot of documentary and computer material, as well as some notebooks with accounting and telephone numbers, related to this criminal network.”

According to the Spanish press, two of the detainees have ended up in the provisional prison.

Those arrested are also being investigated for crimes related to money laundering and against public health.
