Counterpoint: iPhone tops list of most popular smartphones in China in 2023

According to a report from Counterpoint Research, the 2021 base model topped the list of the most popular smartphones sold in China in 2022. The share of the iPhone 13 was 6.6 percent, in 2021 the device had a share of 2.2 percent.
The premium flagship iPhone 13 Pro Max was in second position with a share of 2.2 percent, and the iPhone 13 Pro was in third. The last device received a share of 1.9 percent. The rest of the top 10 positions are occupied by devices from local manufacturers – Honor X30, Oppo A56, Honor Play 30 Plus, Vivo Y33s, Honor 60, Vivo Y76s and Honor Play 20.
Analysts stressed that Apple devices not only took the top three positions in the ranking, but also received a combined market share of 10 percent. According to experts, current data suggests that premium smartphones are still in demand in the region.
“The Chinese smartphone market is important for Apple and it seems that the company has done well compared to its competitors in this territory,” the reporters concluded.
Earlier, Counterpoint Research experts said that 8 out of 10 best-selling smartphones in 2022 belong to Apple. The iPhone 13 was named the most popular device.
