The TikTok account Let’s Together received the tag “Polish state media”. It’s not a secret – the TVP name appears in the profile ID, i.e. @baddzmyrazem.tvp. The national broadcaster’s logo is also on the profile picture of the account.
However, according to TikTok, the mere fact that a profile belongs to a state-owned television does not automatically mean that it is granted such a label. State-funded organizations under the rules may maintain editorial independence. Not only is government funding taken into account, but also evidence of objectivity, such as established processes and safeguards to support editorial independence.
