A fire destroyed the structure of a building being renovated Hong-Kongin the commercial and touristic district of Tsim Sha Tsui.

The fire started just after 11 p.m. local time in Hong Kong and there were no casualties other than two minor injuries, the fire service said. Today at around 8:30 pm Kong Kong time, the fire was already under control.

Authorities gave this episode an alert level of 3, according to the fire department’s severity scale of Hong-Kong.

Police said 170 people living in neighboring blocks had been evacuated to a safe distance. Only two injuries were reported, who are already receiving medical treatment, although with a reserved prognosis.

The skyscraper consists of 42 floors that the builder, the Empire group, would redesign to house a hotel and the historic Sailors Club.

However, the flames burned the walls of the building and left debris in the streets, which cleaning crews came to clean up after the fire was extinguished.
