The Dutch prosecutor’s office requested two years in prison for Spartak player Quincy Promes
The prosecutor’s office of the Netherlands requested two years in prison for Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes. AD reports.
The player is suspected of involvement in the armed attack and stabbing of his cousin. Promes quarreled with the man, after which he stabbed him in the knee, screaming about his desire to kill him. However, the crime does not qualify as an attempted murder due to insufficient evidence.
It is noted that the court will make a decision in a few weeks. Promes, who previously denied guilt, will not attend the meeting in person, but will be represented by a lawyer.
The incident occurred at the end of July 2020 during a family party. In December 2020, the athlete was arrested, but on December 15 he was released from custody. However, he continues to be a suspect.
Promes returned to Spartak on February 25, 2021. Prior to that, he played for the red and white from 2014 to 2018, becoming the champion of Russia and the owner of the country’s Super Cup with the team.
