In the St. Petersburg art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3) on Monday, March 6, at 18:00, an exhibition of representatives of the international movement of contemplative painting Anastasia Boronina and Markus Erich Mayer “Symmetry of feelings” will open. The exhibition will be held as part of the New Wanderers project and will be available for two weeks.

2023 will be a landmark year for the international exhibition community of contemplative artists (“KONTEMPLATIVISTEN”), which celebrates the twenty-year milestone of its activity. The exhibition in the art space mArs, which continues the series of events dedicated to the anniversary of the movement, will feature paintings and drawings by Anastasia Boronina and the founder of the movement, Markus Erich Mayer.

Contemplativists represent a new movement of the 21st century, but they want to be involved with the painters of the past, who, regardless of their likes, dislikes, nationalities, etc., created a special country – Art. Hence the search for the identity or proximity of the gesture of the picture to the works already existing in the history of art.

Practiced by eight active contemplativists, their painting focuses primarily on the Experience of Hearing concretely spoken, thought and felt word order.

Thus, the semantic form is aimed more at the gesture of word formation than at the optical semantic representation. At the same time, the external motive that is perceived in the exhibited paintings should not confuse anyone. It requires everyone to develop a new habit of vision (contemplation).

The modern spectator is invited not only to compare his rational ideas with what he has already seen somewhere, but also to cognize the world of the Unpronounceable with his inner eyes (organs of touch of heart hearing) again and again. The exhibition in the mArs art space offers to try both the already known and the new way of Contemplation.
