Warsaw. The Warsaw Police has completed tests of the registration recognition system
According to the police, the main assumption of the project included the purchase of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition System in real time, as well as the training of 400 policemen of the capital garrison in its use.
The spokesman for Warsaw Chief Commissioner Sylwester Marczak said that thanks to the new system, police officers of criminal services will be able to fight organized crime or car theft more effectively.

ANPRS system – what is it?
The ANPRS computer system analyzes streaming data from many sources, such as surveillance cameras, but also police cars – says deputy head of the ICT Department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, Chief Commissioner Tomasz Szustak. As part of the project, the police bought two with this system installed. The police also have a portable kit that can check all vehicles passing in a given place.
According to the police, the data is obtained from various sources: city monitoring cameras of the capital city of Warsaw, KSP own cameras, cameras of the nomadic set or mobile cameras of training platforms. “Each authorized user of the system can make queries to the database, providing, for example, a fragment or the whole of the vehicle registration number” – we read in the release of the services.
The cost of the project is EUR 876 thousand, most of the funds were obtained from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
